Verizon Wireless' two year old XV6700 will be replaced today by the new XV6800. The first thing that that tells us is that Verizon has really boring names for their phones.

Specifications

The new phone, which is again made by UTStarcom, has a slide-out QWERTY form factor and runs on Windows Mobile 6. The new model is a more refined version of its older cousin. There is no more external antenna, WiFi has been jumped up from b to b/g, the 1.3-megapixel camera is now a 2.0-megapixel model with a flash, and memory has jumped from 128B to 256. RAM stays constant at 64MB.

The new phone is slightly smaller, too, measuring in at 4.3 x 2.3 x 0.7 inches and weighing 5.8 inches. It sports a 2.8" touch display and claims five hours of talk time on a charge. It will be available today for $450 after a mail in rebate, provided that you will sign your soul away on a two year contract.
