I have been waiting years to buy into a wide screen TV for a home theater. This one really does the trick. Given the right High Def signal it is unbelievable. When I first hooked it up I couldn't get anything but standard cable channels. Those were disappointing to say the least but when the cable company finally got things straightened out and I could access HD channels I was amazed. The Red Sox now cover home games in HD and I just couldn't stop watching. That is a potential problem as I have read from other reviewers; it's more difficult not to watch now. You can clearly see the grass stains on uniforms, the jewelry on the players. Not that you can't on a regular set but you just notice so much more. I have assembled a 5.1 set up and watching DVDs on a 1080i player is just as intense but more film like. When King Kong ended I felt I was more involved than I ever felt watching a flick in a theater -and I didn't have to drive home. Source: http://www.nextag.com |
